What to feed your dog

There are different types of dog food:

Complete: is food that contains all the nutrients your dog needs every day (yep – all 37 of them!)

Complementary: is food that is only part of what your dog needs in their diet so they’ll need other food as well.
And different formats of dog food:

Wet dog food is food in cans or pouches.

Dry dog food is biscuits or kibbles.

You might just give your dog dry food or just wet food or, for variety, a mix of both.

And even different foods for each life stage:

Puppies: Bouncy puppies need small, frequent portions, high in energy and easy to eat.

Adult Dogs: Once dogs have stopped growing they don’t need quite as much energy in their food as puppies do so they should be fed an adult food that gives them all the nutrients they need but is lighter in energy.

Senior Dogs: Dogs over 8 years old don’t bounce quite so much and need a food that’s easier to digest.  Because they’re slowing down you need to keep an eye on how much they eat because it is easy for them to put on weight.

ALWAYS HAVE A BOWL OF CLEAN, FRESH WATER AVAILABLE FOR YOUR DOG
